The material used for the Azimuth machine measuring bridge is honeycomb aerospace aluminium alloy, a new material developed for formula 1 racing and the aerospace industry. The material's superior rigidity and weight ratio gives the Azimuth machine the ultimate performance and speed. Compared to coordinate machines of the same size, the Azimuth is not only the fastest, but also very accurate. The traditional method of simply increasing the thickness of marble not only increases the cost, but also increases the weight of the whole machine. Aberlink provides a uniquely designed load-bearing platform, which is placed on the marble base. The load-bearing platform can bear up to 6 tons. So there is almost no impact on the performance of the machine - another Aberlink innovation!
