Calibration of machine tools (working face up to 1250mm in diameter and 3000mm in length) includes pitch and roll measurement procedures for vertical and horizontal axes. Measurement objective: The machine must be accurate in the X-y direction. Therefore, reports of pitch and roll measurements with numerical and graphical displays are required. Solution: Since the machine has a slanted bed, the 2D-Zerotronic tilt sensor and BlueTC are mounted on a sturdy horizontal steel plate at the head of the machine. Because both the ZEROTRONIC tilt sensor unit and the BlueTC are equipped with magnets, they can be easily mounted on a tablet. Computers with 'pitch roll' software MT-Soft are connected directly to the BlueMETER. 2D- Sensor measurements are wirelessly transmitted to the BlueMeter via BlueTC. The measurement data of pitch and roll axis of machine tool are obtained easily and quickly, and the measurement procedures are provided.
